observations in the luxury industry

FLOWmarket is a concept store that materializes people’s immaterial needs and makes people think, live and consume with more consciousness. What they sell are concepts–cans of aspiration, self-esteem, and other aspects of humanity. All the products in Flowmarket are reflections of what we need rather than what we can actually purchase.

FLOWmarket sells what they term “Next Generation Luxury”. This makes me curious about what the future of luxury will be. Instead of purchasing a designer handbag will consumers be looking for an experience? Will time and education be valued as luxury more than a designer outfit?
